The Corporation, Shelton Hannig, Inc., was chartered December 1, 1960 in the state of Indiana. Shelton Hannig, architect, practiced in Terre Haute, Indiana, from 1949 through the formation of Shelton Hannig, Inc., in 1960 Shelton Hannig, Inc. performed construction for Indiana State University and numerous other commercial and industrial projects in the community.
In January of 1988, Bill W. Biddle (formerly of Kettelhut Construction, Inc., of Lafayette, Indiana) purchased the corporation. In March 1998, Mr. Biddle became President, and the company name was amended to Hannig Construction, Inc. Mr. Biddle brought much experience to the corporation in the areas of contract management, construction management, design-build, cost estimating, as well a maintenance, labor and equipment management. At that time Troy L. Biddle also joined the company and worked with his father to build the highly regarded firm.
In July 2007, Troy L. Biddle was promoted to President after the death of his father. He guided Hannig Construction, Inc. with the same high principles and strict code of ethics that has been the cornerstone of the Company since its creation.
In August of 2021, Larry Yargus (former Owner and President of Yargus Manufacturing, Inc. in Marshall, Illinois) purchased Hannig Construction, Inc.
Mr. Yargus, with 50 years of fertilizer material handling equipment experience, built his company from a small regional fertilizer material handling company into an international company, overseeing customer projects worldwide and several major expansions of his manufacturing facilities. He sold his company to AGI, (Ag Growth International) in 2018. Seeing an opportunity to own one of the Midwest Region’s premier construction companies is what inspired him to purchase Hannig Construction.
In March of 2023, knowing that Hannig had built its reputation on high principles and ethics and the expertise and quality of its staff, Mr. Yargus named Wes Readinger as President and Seth Porter as Vice President to lead and grow Hannig.

In September of 2024, sisters Meg Yargus and Anne Sheehy became majority shareholders in Hannig Construction, Inc. Larry Yargus, Wes Readinger, and Seth Porter are minority shareholders.
